New Region Announced for Free Laptop Distribution Under PM Youth Program
The federal government has announced the next phase of laptop distribution under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, with Azad Jammu and Kashmir selected as the upcoming destination. The initiative, led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, continues to expand nationwide with the aim of empowering students through digital access and modern learning tools.
According to official details, the distribution ceremony will be held at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad, where eligible students will receive laptops to support their academic research, online learning, and skill development. Government officials say the program is designed to bridge the digital divide and help students adapt to the growing demands of a technology-driven education system.
This announcement follows the recent rollout of the Laptop Scheme 2025 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where a launch event was organized at the University of Haripur. Addressing students there, the prime minister emphasized that the initiative is not merely about device distribution, but part of a long-term vision to nurture innovation, creativity, and global competitiveness among Pakistan’s youth. Authorities noted that over one million students nationwide have already benefited from earlier phases of the program, with more distributions planned in the coming weeks.
